Two answers to “AI on our database”
BlazeSQL describes itself as an AI data analyst. It reads your database structure, turns questions into SQL, and gives your team its own place to work, with modes for technical and non-technical users, dashboards, and reports it can share as PDF or interactive pages. It also reaches people through a Claude database connector, ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Teams.
Datablare does not try to be the analyst. It sits between the AI tools your team already uses and your database. The agent writes the SQL and explains the answer; Datablare checks the query, runs it read-only on the tables and columns you allowed, and records it.
Where BlazeSQL is the stronger choice
If you want a finished analytics product, BlazeSQL covers ground Datablare does not: built-in dashboards and reports, twelve listed databases including BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks and Amazon Athena, and a desktop app whose offline mode, according to BlazeSQL, keeps query results on your computer. Its Team Advanced plan also lists white labelling.
Where Datablare is the stronger choice
Datablare is built for teams that already ask Claude or ChatGPT and need control over what reaches them. Every plan, including Free, has:
- Read-only, enforced twice: the SQL guard, then a read-only session, or a transaction that is always rolled back on SQL Server and Snowflake.
- Tables and columns per project: hide individual columns such as phone numbers or salaries. BlazeSQL lists table and column access groups on Enterprise.
- Every query on record: who asked, the SQL, the tables and the timing, with CSV export on Team and above.
- Per-person sign-in: OAuth as yourself, roles that can limit an analyst to specific data sources, instant revocation.
Every Datablare project also has a remote MCP link, so Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code or your own agents get the same governed access as Claude and ChatGPT. BlazeSQL lists “API & MCP” on Blaze Team Advanced.
Data, hosting and price
Datablare passes query results to your agent and never stores them, is hosted in India, and bills in rupees with no seat limit (see pricing). BlazeSQL bills in US dollars per plan with included users, and says it does not offer an on-premise version; Datablare’s Enterprise plan includes a conversation about your own cloud. Datablare’s controls help you meet DPDP, GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA and PDPL obligations. See security, how it works, or setup for SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
Can you use both?
Yes: BlazeSQL dashboards for recurring reporting, Datablare to govern ad-hoc questions from Claude or ChatGPT. To judge Datablare, start free with the built-in e-commerce sample.
